Me and the Trend Academy. Today was the second time us trend hunters and trend experts met to talk about the future. We open our notebooks and completely share. We sit together almost a whole day. There is one from Spain, one from Italy, Finland, Austria/Germany, France and me from Sweden.The colours, materials, surface, content etc that we agree on WILL be happening 2026. If the six of us agree that a certain pattern will happen - expect it to be so.This year we dug a bit extra on the story of roots. Both crafty and nostalgic inclusive. We talked about grey (huge topic) and concrete (but soft). We discussed anti-trend and romanticism. Offline, of course, but also How things sometimes need to have a bit of friction (instead of constant smoothness).And finally we talked about women and red colours. We are talking about women’s situation in India, the US and the conservative movement in Europe. We will see sexy, strong women and perhaps a kind of eroticism on women’s perspective.My head is full. So, I started a new education together with Frida at @trendenser Everything is starting in January. The education is in Sweden and mainly in Swedish.We do this together with Svensk Form (Swedish Society of Craft and Design) and Berghs School of Communicstion. @svenskform @berghsWhy? What? And How?The short answer is that we are looking at design buyers, not designers. We see that companies could be better at buying design. The course is about sustainability, logistics, pr&communication, analysing trends etc etc. Are all buyers ready for the new EU legislation?Want to join? Colourful and strange. Yesterday I walked the grounds of Formex. Actually surprised. Actually happy. The fair is full of exhibitors and fun stuff. Is quirky the new black? Crazy cat lady wallpaper? Who needs an elephant vase? Me!!!Today at 12.00 I will do my guided tour again. And tomorrow.
